Busy, busy! I haven't put anything here in a while! This season has had me very busy. Several weddings, portraits, shooting auroras even a few photo contests. My photo Apple Thief (porcupine with an apple), has been chosen as a finalist for the Down East Magazine annual photo contest! Keep your fingers crossed! I have partnered with Boothby's Orchard in Livermore for shooting product and process photos for their website and as an on site wedding photographer as they will be hosting weddings in their off season. Also, I have been updating my website to serve customers a little better. The wedding page format matches the portrait page and now I've joined with Pixieset which is an online photo fulfillment service. Just go to the gallery and your there! Click on the photos you like and click the number of photos to be printed and they will be delivered to your door! They even do canvas, metal and other formats. Also, I will be increasing the rates for weddings on January 1st 2016. I am finding that the cost of travel and equipment is far exceeding what I am currently getting. I will still be very competitive on pricing and if you have booked with a deposit before the end of the year you will be charged the old rate.
Saint Patricks Aurora
Well, I finally got an image of the aurora borealis after years of just missing the small window of opportunity that usually comes with this rare event. This is a 5 photo panorama taken around 9:30pm on Saint Patricks Day. The wind was brutal at 30+mph which almost knocked me and my tripod over! Also, I am surprised that the image is as sharp given the wind conditions.
Well, here it is! My own website. This is something that I have been thinking about for quite a while and now it's here! I've used Facebook for a long time but I was frustrated with the layout and lack of control I had over my posts and photos as well as inquiries from potential customers looking for price lists, and past photos. I will still keep the Facebook account open because it is good exposure but will link from here about new photos, weddings etc. My new domain name is Jwoodburyphotography.com which is linked to Fine Art America for purchasing prints of vehicles, landscapes, and wildlife.
Fine Art America is a separate website which sells your art and photos as fine art prints, canvas, metal, greeting cards and ships directly to you.
For those who are new to my photography I am a wedding, portrait, and landscape photographer but I tend to branch off into other directions to challenge myself like wildlife, family, vehicles, engagements etc. I am influenced by many things in my photography. Nature, light, color or my kids. Inspiration comes in all forms for me which is why I don't limit myself to just one style or area of photography. I have quite an extensive Pinterest gallery with things that influence me that grows every day.
If you had purchased the latest issue of Real Maine Weddings, you may have noticed that I have 2 photo ads for the Harraseeket Inn, A top wedding destination in Maine. This photo was taken during Ashley & Roberts wedding in September.
So, if you are considering my services, I like to meet with my clients to get to know them better and to get a good sense of your vision on what you would like to see in your photos.Give me a call, text, email or message me on Facebook anytime to set up a time to discuss your vision for portraits or your big day!
